Ruthie Belle's gentle Cysteamine Lash & Brow Lifting Lotion suits both lashes and brows: there's no need to stock extra lifting lotion for brow lift treatments. The purpose of the lifting lotion (also known as curling lotion) is to soften the keratin in the hair so that we can reshape it.

The Cysteamine-based formula achieves sky-high results loved by our customers with earth and lash-friendly ingredients like cysteamine and plant-based amino acids.

The results last as long as with traditional harsh lifting lotions, but since the Cysteamine Lifting Lotion does not dehydrate lashes it also prevents lashes from over processing. In addition, clients do not need any special home care serum to nourish lashes after a chemical treatment. 

The Fixing Lotion by Ruthie Belle is the second step of the lash & brow lift treatment that lowers the pH and neutralizes the effect of lifting lotion. As a result, the cuticles will close and "fix" the hair permanently into its new shape.

Ruthie Belle's fixing lotion contains no sodium bromate — a substance several countries have banned from using in cosmetic products. Instead, we're using hydrogen peroxide, making the lotion work like a hair conditioner after shampooing — to close cuticles and leave lashes and brows healthy and strong.

1) Start applying Lifting Lotion from the outer corner by positioning the top line first. Use a super precise Angled Brush for this to ensure the top line is very even.

Start from the outer corner because lashes in the outer corner need more processing time than those in the inner corner. Make the top line even so that the result is even. Lashes only change their shape in the areas where the lotions have been applied, so an uneven top-line results in an uneven lift.

The exact position of the top line/thickness of the lotion layer depends on the type of silicone you are working with, the growth direction of the eyelashes, and the desired look.

2) Then, fill the area underneath the silicone's top line and bottom edge with lifting lotion. The lotions are very gentle, so they should be applied all the way to the bottom edge of the silicone without getting on the waterline (leaving a gap of 1mm or less). No product should ever touch the eye's waterline because it is much more sensitive than the rest of the eyelid. If you are afraid of getting the lotion on the waterline, leave a 1mm gap between the silicone and the waterline. If you leave a gap of 1+ millimeters, the lift will not be as strong as it's supposed to be.

When the lifting lotion has done its job, it’s time to neutralize its effects and give the lashes the final shape with fixing lotion. Inner corner lashes are thinner and need less processing time than the outer corner lashes. 

3) Apply Fixing Lotion starting from the inner corner of the eye to achieve an even lift. Lash lifts look the best when the lift is even.

4) Process Fixing Lotion for two minutes less than you processed lifting lotion, with the maximum processing time being 10 minutes. 

• For example, if you processed lifting lotion for 12 minutes, you should process fixing lotion for 10 minutes.
• If you processed lifting lotion for even 16 minutes, you should still process fixing lotion for 10 minutes.

Covering Shine Repair with a compensator to prevent lashes from popping off the shield before the right time is necessary. Remove the compensator after 5 minutes with an upward movement so that most of the leftover Shine Repair comes off with the compensator.

5) Thoroughly cover lashes from root to tip, paying particular attention to the tips of lashes, which tend to be the most dehydrated and damaged.

6) Let soak for 5 minutes, taking care to touch up regions that have already absorbed the product.

7) Gently remove excess product with a damp Q-tip or micro brush.

Processing Times:

• Lifting Lotion: 5-8 min
• Fixing Lotion: 4-6 min
• Shine Repair: 5 min

1) After priming the brows with Ruthie Belle Easy Lift Primer, it’s time to move to the lifting step.

2) Since the top of the eyebrow takes the longest and most work to reshape, start applying lifting lotion from the top of the eyebrow. Next, cover the whole brow with a generous amount of the lotion.

Note: The Cysteamine Lifting Lotion is gentle, so you must use a sufficient layer to work correctly. 

3) Spread the lotion from the inner corner to the outer corner and then brush the lotion from the outer corner to the inner corner, ensuring the hairs' roots get covered. Repeat the movement upwards once and downwards once.

Apply more lotion if needed. Don't rub lotions onto the skin to avoid irritation!

4) Lift some hairs in the opposite direction to check the processing times. If the hairs bounce back – they are not ready yet. If they lack resistance – then they are, and you can remove the lifting lotion. It is better to check the hairs in different locations of the brow as some areas can process faster (for example, the head of the brow generally has softer and lighter hairs; thus, they require less processing time).

Note: Avoid brushing the hairs during and after the Lifting lotion as it may cause them to stretch and become curly.

For most eyebrow types, the front and tail of the eyebrow lift faster than the middle part, so lotions should be removed first.

5) Remove lotion residue with a dry cotton pad or Q-tip. If the customer starts to feel itchiness during the lifting stage, remove the lotion and proceed to the next step.

After lifting, it’s time to give brows the desired shape by applying fixing lotion to the whole eyebrow using a brush.

6) Spread the lotion evenly, separating the brow hairs. Brush gently to avoid skin irritation!

7) Always process fixing lotion for two minutes less than you processed lifting lotion.

8) Thoroughly cover the eyebrows with Shine Repair.

9) Let soak for 5 minutes, taking care to touch up regions that have already absorbed the product.

10) Gently remove excess product with a damp Q-tip or micro brush.
